In this edition of the SVC Podcast, SVC Contributing Editor Bennett Liles talks with Jerry Delgado of Sennheiser about the installation of the K-array Anakonda speaker array to solve a front fill problem in the theater at the Musical Instrument Museum in Phoenix. Delgado describes the house sound coverage challenge that led him to demo the Anakonda for front fill in the theater. The venue is host to a huge variety of musical performances and their audiences. The Anakonda evenly spread sound over the first few rows of seats while appearing to be part of the stage architecture.

In this edition of the SVC Podcast, SVC Contributing Editor Bennett Liles talks with Sam Berkow of SIA Acoustics about the construction and sound system installation for eTown Hall in Boulder, Co. The venue is home to a weekly eTown music show recorded before a live audience and broadcast on NPR, public and commercial radio stations nationwide. Equipped with a separate recording studio and offices, the facility is one of the most Green in the country, complete with solar panels. In part one, Berkow outlines the construction and acoustic installation on the project.

In this edition of the SVC Podcast, SVC Contributing Editor Bennett Liles goes into more detail with Megan Henninger on the new sound system installed by Clearwing Productions in the James Simpson Theater at Chicago’s Field Museum of Natural History. Megan describes running the speaker wiring and how they used the L-Acoustics LA Network Manager software to set up and ring out the speaker system. She also has some interesting comments on how the small 5XT speakers were concealed along the front edge of the stage.

In this edition of the SVC Podcast, SVC Contributing Editor Bennett Liles wraps up his chat with Mark Schultz of Parsons Technologies about the complete renovation of the Game Seven Grill in Phoenix. Located beside Chase Field, home of the Arizona Diamondbacks baseball team, the restaurant is the place to be for local baseball fans. Schultz outlines the outside plaza portion of the new sound system powered by Crown amps and covered by Community Professional R.25 all-weather speaker enclosures. The system is controlled from two locations using a BSS BLU-10 panel.

Part of the Chicago Field Museum of Natural History, the theater got a 3D projection system and upgraded the sound system to match it using L-Acoustics ARCS Wide speaker enclosures and several models from the XT series.

The project included an all new sound and video system for this very loud and busy sports bar located beside Chase Field, home of the Arizona Diamondbacks baseball team. Based on Community Professional CP6 pendant loudspeakers, the new sound system had to be able to cut through a lot of noise and cheering fans.

Kuhn provides details on the hybrid wedge/in-ear stage monitoring system design, miking the pastors with lapel vs. head-worn models, and tech crew training on the new AV gear.

In this edition of the SVC Podcast, SVC Contributing Editor Bennett Liles continues his talk with Robert Coggins and Mark LaBouff of FBP Systems regarding their new sound system installation at Thorncrown Chapel. They discuss the placement of speaker arrays and the Bose PM8500N amplifier. Robert outlines the installation and the testing of the Panaray MA12EX system and the very difficult acoustic environment with hard floors and 425 windows. The speaker arrays also had to be located almost directly behind the pulpit microphones for an even more challenging project.

In this edition of the SVC Podcast, SVC Contributing Editor Bennett Liles talks with Robert Coggins and Mark LaBouff of FBP Systems regarding their new sound system installation at the Thorncrown Chapel. Constructed largely of glass, the building is a challenging sound environment and there had been less than successful previous attempts by others trying to provide good sound for the facility. Robert and Mark provided a Bose Panaray MA12EX system and after a few days of work, the problem was solved.
