In this edition of the SVC Podcast, SVC Contributing Editor Bennett Liles talks with Mark Schultz of Parsons Technologies about the complete renovation of the Game Seven Grill in Phoenix. The project included an all new sound and video system for this very loud and busy sports bar located beside Chase Field, home of the Arizona Diamondbacks baseball team. Based on Community Professional CP6 pendant loudspeakers, the new sound system had to be able to cut through a lot of noise and cheering fans.

In this edition of the SVC Podcast, SVC Contributing Editor Bennett Liles continues his talk with AV technician Kevin Kuhn from Morgantown, W.V., about the complete AV system installation he led for non-denominational South Ridge Church in nearby Freemont. Kuhn provides details on the hybrid wedge/in-ear stage monitoring system design, miking the pastors with lapel vs. head-worn models, and tech crew training on the new AV gear.

In this edition of the SVC Podcast, SVC Contributing Editor Bennett Liles continues his talk with Robert Coggins and Mark LaBouff of FBP Systems regarding their new sound system installation at Thorncrown Chapel. They discuss the placement of speaker arrays and the Bose PM8500N amplifier. Robert outlines the installation and the testing of the Panaray MA12EX system and the very difficult acoustic environment with hard floors and 425 windows. The speaker arrays also had to be located almost directly behind the pulpit microphones for an even more challenging project.

In this edition of the SVC Podcast, SVC Contributing Editor Bennett Liles talks with Robert Coggins and Mark LaBouff of FBP Systems regarding their new sound system installation at the Thorncrown Chapel. Constructed largely of glass, the building is a challenging sound environment and there had been less than successful previous attempts by others trying to provide good sound for the facility. Robert and Mark provided a Bose Panaray MA12EX system and after a few days of work, the problem was solved.

In this edition of the SVC Podcast, SVC Contributing Editor Bennett Liles talks with Brent Hayes of SVL Productions about the lighting and video components of the recent technical upgrade for the First Free Church in Rockford, Illinois. Brent describes the removal of many PAR 64 instruments and the addition of LED lighting instruments and control for the church. He also provides details on the addition of three Panasonic projectors and three large projection screens, the center on of which is motorized.

Jason describes the technical installation while Bea outlines the Energy Trust of Oregon rebates and incentives arranged through Advanced Broadcast Systems that were instrumental in enabling the improvements. They also discuss staff and volunteer training on the new equipment.

In this edition of the SVC Podcast, SVC Contributing Editor Bennett Liles talks with Brent Hayes of SVL Productions and Aaron Johnson of Johnson AV Engineering regarding their sound, lighting and video upgrade for the First Free Church in Rockford, Illinois. Brent and Aaron lead the way through the sound upgrade that included Danley speakers and Powersoft amplifiers to cover a very large sanctuary seating nearly 1800 people. They describe both the design concept and the steps taken in the installation of the new sound system.

They also provide details on the LED lighting instruments, controller, the installation and other aspects of the PEG TV station’s migration to HD. The entire former lighting system had to be removed and electrical changes made before installation of the new LED system could be completed.
