In this edition of the SVC Podcast, SVC Contributing Editor Bennett Liles talks with freelance TV sound engineer Erik West about doing sound for baseball games and other television sports remote broadcasts. West details the setup for his Milwaukee Brewers games and discusses the nuances of picking up crowd sounds, bat cracks, and umpires calling balls and strikes. Crew communication is also explored with talkbacks, sportscaster headsets, and prefader foldback routing.
