In this edition of the SVC Podcast, SVC Contributing Editor Bennett Liles talks with Buford Jones, tour liaison manager with Meyer Sound, about mixing live sound at the front-of-house console. Jones’ live sound mixing career spans decades and he has mixed with the world’s top musical performers. They discuss setting up an initial house mix, working with poor room acoustics and how techniques have changed for mixing on today’s linear, low-distortion PA systems. He also comments on mistakes he sees most frequently made by inexperienced FOH sound people.
