In this edition of the SVC Podcast, SVC Contributing Editor Bennett Liles talks with Kevin Crow of AVE (Audio Video Electronics) in Maple Grove, Minn., about the complete audio and video upgrade done by the firm at the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Minneapolis. Crow outlines the task of outfitting a very old and traditional church with a modern multi-zone sound system using DSP and iPad control. He also expands on how the new directivity capabilities have revolutionized sound control in reverberant environments.

In this edition of the SVC Podcast, SVC Contributing Editor Bennett Liles wraps up his talk with Andrew Van Veld of Circle City Audio in Indianapolis. He expands on the additional equipment used to outfit Plainfield Fire Territory #123 with training facilities for its staff and enable the system to automatically duck audio levels and pause DVD playback when an alarm comes in. He also provides details on the camera control and how Circle City Audio set them up to record and play their training sessions at the fire station.

In this edition of the SVC Podcast, SVC Contributing Editor Bennett Liles wraps up his talk with Bob Capotosto and Gene Ingham of RCI Systems in Beltsville, Md., about the renovation of Cramton Auditorium on the campus of Howard University. Capotosto and Ingham discuss the temporary initial setup of the L-Acoustics Kudo units horizontally onstage and then provide details on the 8XTi enclosures and SB28 subwoofers that were also used. They explain the layout and positioning of the LA-8 amplified controllers and the speaker arrays.

In this edition of the SVC Podcast, SVC Contributing Editor Bennett Liles talks with Mark Stross, CTO at ANC Sports, about the massive video signage upgrade at Cowboys Stadium. Stross outlines the scope of the project and discusses the problem of getting high-resolution video over the distances required to cover scoreboards, signs and nearly a mile of ribbon display around the huge stadium. ANC Sports worked with Gefen on this challenge. Mark also provides details on the VisionSoft control software used to coordinate the variety of video display programming for sports fans and TV viewers.

In this edition of the SVC Podcast, SVC Contributing Editor Bennett Liles talks with Andrew Van Veld of Circle City Audio in Indianapolis. Van Veld provides details on the AV system installation at Plainfield Fire Territory 123 in Plainfield, Ind., complete with training room video recording/playback, remote radio station tuning, PTZ camera control, document camera, and seven audio zones. Xantech control gear was used to make the fire station AV system reliable and easy to operate.

They discuss their selection of the L-Acoustics gear and how they adjusted mic and high-frequency directivity on the Kudo boxes.
