In this edition of the SVC Podcast, SVC Contributing Editor Bennett Liles talks with Frank Blain, owner of Pro Video Productions in Peoria, Ill. about the complete video production upgrade in that city’s Carver Arena. They discuss the control room installation of the Broadcast Pix Slate 3016 production system and the Daktronics 16:9 HD four-sided video scoreboard. Frank outlines the hectic one week time frame for the entire upgrade and explains how the various features of the Slate 3016 system are used in live production at the arena.

He discusses the challenges of controlling a number of different sound zones in a very reverberant environment with concrete floors, exposed steel beams and plenty of glass.

In this edition of the SVC Podcast, SVC Contributing Editor Bennett Liles completes his chat with Ryan Cahoy, managing director at Rise Display a digital signage firm in Shawnee, Kan. regarding installation of digital signage solutions on business school campuses. Ryan details an installation project at the Langdale College of Business Administration at Valdosta State University in Valdosta, Ga. The quad display interactive touch screen installation is described along with the LED wall ticker. Ryan comments on the differences in administering corporate and academic installation projects and he outlines the considerations in mounting view only and interactive displays.

Paul explains how CSI installed an Ashly ne8800 digital sound processor at the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Tarpon Springs, Fla. Paul also talks about how CSI tested for power problems in the church and he details the first live test of the system with an actual service using head-worn microphones on the participants.
