In this edition of the SVC Podcast, SVC Contributing Editor Bennett Liles talks with Mark Stross, CTO at ANC Sports, about the massive video signage upgrade at Cowboys Stadium. Stross outlines the scope of the project and discusses the problem of getting high-resolution video over the distances required to cover scoreboards, signs and nearly a mile of ribbon display around the huge stadium. ANC Sports worked with Gefen on this challenge. Mark also provides details on the VisionSoft control software used to coordinate the variety of video display programming for sports fans and TV viewers.

In this edition of the SVC Podcast, SVC Contributing Editor Bennett Liles continues his discussion with Kevin Goldsmith, director of digital media operations for Denver-based Ping HD on the digital signage installation done by Ping HD at San Francisco’s Candlestick Park. Goldsmith goes into the power aspect of the project and describes how the system rebooted and came back up after a power outage during a game. He also discusses the system testing and provides details on other stadium signage projects done by Ping HD.

In this edition of the SVC Podcast, SVC Contributing Editor Bennett Liles talks with Kevin Goldsmith, director of digital media operations for Denver-based Ping HD. Goldsmith outlines the large digital signage project at San Francisco’s Candlestick Park where dozens of video monitors were installed in concession stand areas to replace static signs and make menu changes quick and easy. The project involved running HDMI cable and maintaining the hot plug 5V to keep monitors awake for the fans. He also describes working with the Atlona distribution amplifiers and EDID emulators.
