In this edition, SVC contributing editor Bennett Liles talks with Richard O’Connell, principal at AV DesignBuild. O’Connell details the complete overhaul of the sound system at the 125 year old Sacred Heart Church in Springfield, Massachusetts. Acoustics, microphone cabling, RFI problems and mixing locations were among the problems tackled in the installation. All this had to be accomplished without affecting the natural architectural beauty of the sanctuary.

In part two (listen to part 1, SVC contributing editor Bennett Liles talks with technical director Nathan Robertson of San Antonio’s Summit Christian Center, a contemporary worship church that has moved into a new facility and upgraded its video production capability with For-A switchers and other gear in preparation for production of a national TV program to be aired on TBN. Robertson goes through the production setup routine at Summit and outlines his plans for future equipment upgrades and credits his training coordinators for keeping the volunteer crew up to speed on the production equipment.
